Night Clubs! Is he serious?
Cheif Minister Omar Abduallah wants to open Night clubs in Kashmir. This, supposedly to make Kashmir linger in the memories of the tourists. Although there is nothing wrong with what he wants to achieve but little seems to be right with how he wants it! I mean what next, are we supposed to wear western outfits to make them feel at home. It is surprising how many times I have said this sentence in the past few months but folks… Tourists come to Kashmir for what it is, not for what we are making it. We need to preserve our culture and tradition and heritage, not try to become those who visit us. After all, we can`t become everyone who comes here!s

I welcome you to blogging. I went through some of your posts. You seemed to be over enthused about the 60 crores for roads. Brother real development is construction of new roads, new bridges and other infrastructure. Do you see any new road being built. No! All the money spent is only on the maintenance of previous roads. This is no development, this is just show off. Omar Abdullah has infact procured 4 BMW bikes at the cost of Rs 12 lacs each only to facilitate the joy rides for him and his benefactors. He is just here to enjoy and nothing more than that and in the meanwhile does some patch work of already existent roads which they call “Development”. So shameful. In Afghanistan Americans built a road between Kabul and Kandhar at the cost of whopping 1.8 Billion Dollars. And what India spends on Kashmir is Just a joke. And they call Kashmir is prospering with India. We are actually going down the drain and moving backwards. We have lost our natural resources and what not. We have lost our Nation. What can I write further.

Brother,
That exactly is the point. We are so starved for any development anywhere that mere patching up of the roads sends us into a tizzy!
I am overzealous because, honestly speaking, I have never seen such a change happening before. It may be a charade, an eyewash, but I wonder why the eyewashes of the previous governments were not so ‘good’.
I agree with you that we are going down the drain, but we always have been. The good news is that the speed at which we are going now, has dropped by just that little margin!
Let us be positive… Insha Allah we will witness a change!
